Using an I hook and 3 ply yarn
Row 1: Ch 13. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 11 ch. (12 sc sts) ch 1, turn.
Row 2-28: Back loop single crochet (blsc) in next 12 sc. (12 blsc sts) ch 1 turn. At the end of row 28, finish off and weave in loose end.
Row1: Working along one side of cuff count in 9 rows. At the end of the 9th row, sc. Sc in the end of the next 9 rows, ch 1, turn (10 sc sts)
Rows 2-18: blsc in 10 sc. Ch 1, turn. At the end of row 18, fasten off and weave in ends.
Attach yarn to bottom end of cuff
You now have a T shape of sc ribbing.. one is the cuff one is the instep. ( It helps to put the cuff around your ankle and the instep on your foot to get an idea of where you are in the crochet project at this point)
This next part is a bit confusing, but once you start, you will get the hang of it. You are, essentially putting the sides and the soles on the slipper by crocheting around 3 sides of your T, leaving the top of the T unworked.
In the next rows, you will be crocheting down right side cuff edge (drsc), down right side instep (drsi) along front toe instep (afte) up left side instep (ulsi) and up left side instep (ulsc).
Attach yarn to first stitch of slipper. Ch 1. Crochet, evenly spacing sts as follows: 10 sc drsc, 18 sc drsi, 8 sc ate, 18 sc ulsi, 10 sc ulsc. Ch 2, turn (64 sc sts)Ch 3, Turn (note, the turning chain will always count as your first hdc from this point on)
Rows 2-4: Half double crochet (hdc) in each st around cuff and instep, ch 2 turn (64 hdc sts), ch 3, turn.
Row 5: hdc into first 9 sts, make a 3 hdc tog decrease* over the next three sts, 14 hdc, then make two- 2 hdc tog decs*, 4 hdc, two- 2 hdc tog decs, 14 hdc, 3 hdc tog decrease over next three sts, 9 hdc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 6: hdc frist 24 sts, 3 hdc tog dec, hdc next 2 sts, 3 hdc tog dec, hdc next 24 sts. Ch 3, turn.
Row 7: hdc into first st, 2 hdc tog dec, hdc next 20 sts, two- 2 hdc tog decs, hdc next 20 sts, 2 hdc decrease, hdc in last sts. Ch 3, turn
After this row, finish off leaving a 20 inch length of yarn. Use this length to sew up bottom of sole and back of cuff. Weave in all loose ends.
**NOTE on stitches:
3 hdc tog dec: (3 half double crochet together decrease) use the next three stitches and draw them together by crocheting them into one stitch
two, 2 hdc tog decs: (two separate half double crochet together decreases) this means there are two decreases in a row consisting of two stitches drawn together by crocheting them into one stitch
